One policy engine decides access everywhere
Secure messaging is usually sold as encryption in transit and a compliance badge. Those matter, but they are not what fails in practice. What fails is that chat, mail and meetings each carry their own permission model, so access granted in one place outlives its removal in another.
Ration puts a single policy engine across every module. One admin console sets roles and policy, and the decision applies identically to a message, a mailbox, a meeting room and a shared file.

External participants without external exposure
Most real work involves people outside the organisation — a contractor, a counterparty, a supplier. The usual options are both bad: create them a full account, or move the conversation to a consumer messaging app nobody governs.
Ration admits external participants to a specific room. They gain access to that room and nothing else, the grant is recorded, and withdrawing it takes effect immediately.
Compliance by architecture
For organisations that must demonstrate rather than assert their security posture, the strongest answer is structural. A deployment inside your own estate, or inside a region you have chosen deliberately, gives you infrastructure, location and access controls you can point at and verify.
That is a different kind of claim from a vendor attestation about somebody else's data centre, and it is usually the one an auditor is actually asking for.
Security that does not become lock-in
A platform that holds your data hostage is not secure, it is merely captive. Ration speaks the same open standards as everyone else, so mail, calendars and contacts stay portable by default and export whenever you ask.
We would rather earn the renewal than trap you into it.

How secure is Ration?

Can we control who sees what?
Yes. Roles and policy are set from one admin console, and external participants can be admitted to specific rooms without gaining access to anything else.
Where is our data stored?
On Ration Cloud it sits in the regional data centre you select. Ration can also be deployed on your own on-premise infrastructure, or hosted for you inside a managed service provider's cloud.
Can we get our data out?
Yes. Ration speaks ActiveSync, IMAP, POP3, SMTP, CalDAV and CardDAV, and your data exports whenever you ask for it.
